Heartland Harness Opens a New Facility in Neola, Iowa on May 21, 2026
Heartland Harness, a custom wire harness and cable assembly manufacturer based in Neola, Iowa, is opening a new 10,000-square-foot facility on Thursday, May 21, 2026. We're hosting a public open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 105 Barrier Lane. Come tour the new building, see the equipment, meet the team, grab some food, and stick around for door prizes.

The new facility expands our capacity to serve OEMs across the agricultural, industrial engine, and heavy equipment industries from our location 20 miles northeast of Council Bluffs.
What Does Heartland Harness Do?
Heartland Harness manufactures three core product lines for OEM customers across the Midwest:
Custom wire harnesses built for routing, protection, and durability in demanding environments
Cable assemblies engineered for high-vibration and high-heat applications
Mechanical assemblies that combine electrical and mechanical work under one roof
We serve manufacturers in agricultural equipment, industrial engines, and heavy-duty equipment across construction, mining, and material handling. Our customers count on us for low-volume custom production, from prototype to full run.
Why Our New Wire Harness Manufacturing Facility Matters
In September 2024, Heartland Harness was acquired by Des Moines-based Auto-jet, an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer serving more than 500 OEM customers. The acquisition expanded Auto-jet's capabilities with our specialty: custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and mechanical assemblies.
The new 10,000-square-foot building was a top priority from day one. The facility houses newly purchased braiding equipment and new automatic processing machines that expand both our capacity and our capability. It gives us the space and the equipment we need to grow with our customers and bring on the team to meet rising demand.
Built Locally in Pottawattamie County
The new facility was constructed by Neola-based Zimmerman Sales & Service, owned by Wes Zimmerman. We broke ground in February 2025 alongside other Pottawattamie County family businesses investing in the future of our region. We're proud to be rooted in Neola, and we're committed to growing in this community for the long haul.
