Wire Harness / Cable Assembler
Location: Neola, Iowa
Reports to: Production Manager
Schedule: Flexible

 

About the Role

As a Wire Harness / Cable Assembler at Heartland Harness, you'll build the custom electrical assemblies that power agricultural, industrial, and heavy equipment used by manufacturers across the Midwest and beyond. You'll work hands-on with wire layout boards, semi-automatic processing equipment, and detailed assembly instructions to produce harnesses and cable assemblies that meet the durability and reliability standards our OEM customers demand.

This is a position for someone who takes pride in precision work, enjoys building with their hands, and wants to grow with a company that's expanding its facility and its team.

What You'll Do

• Read and follow wire harness assembly instructions

• Gather materials and tooling to perform work in an organized, efficient way

• Route, wire, and assemble electronic components using wire layout boards or tables

• Perform hand assembly operations based on detailed instructions

• Operate semi-automatic equipment including crimp presses, wire processors, wire twisters, and wire strippers

• Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using test fixtures

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished assemblies

• Take on additional duties as needed to support the team

What You'll Need

​

• Assembly or production experience and a strong mechanical aptitude

• A motivated, detail-oriented mindset

• Excellent hand dexterity and attention to detail

• Proficiency in basic math

• Good communication skills and a positive attitude

• Ability to distinguish colored wires for accurate assembly

• Ability to handle small parts

• Ability to stand while working

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
